John Savage
John Savage is a senior consultant with The Kilgore Group, LLC and the founder of LEAD
(Leadership, Education and Development) Consultants, Inc. He specializes in working with churches, non-profit and business organizations. His expertise is in the fields of listening dynamics, conflict management and resolution, training and consulting.
John holds four earned degrees. A bachelor in Music from Syracuse University School of Music, a Masters in Education from Syracuse University, a Masters in Divinity from Colgate Rochester Divinity School and a Doctorate in Ministry (in the field of psychotherapy) from Colgate Rochester Divinity School.
He has written two books, The Apathetic and Bored Church Member and Listening and Caring Skills. He has also written numerous articles for Leadership Magazine. He has been on the adjunct faculties of Princeton Seminary (8 years), Toronto Theological Seminary (20 years), and is currently adjunct faculty training doctoral students at Seabury Western Seminary.
He has worked with over forty denominations in Australia, Canada, Taiwan, New Zealand, England and Scotland. The LEAD system that he founded has taught over 100,000 people in fourteen countries. He has created over 30 different training events, many of which have been tailor made for the client. His specialty is to create a training event that meets the agreed upon well-formed outcome of the client.
He has worked with corporations and other organizations such as:
- IBM, training top executives,
- Hewlett Packard training 350 persons in depth listening skills,
- Second and third year medical students at Ohio State University Medical School,
- Power utility managers in Australia,
- Principals of High Schools,
- Nurses in a nursing college,
- Top executive in many denominations including, United Methodists, Southern Baptists, Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, American Baptists.
He has done original research in the fields of the church drop out, congregational corporate pain and just recently on "Spiritual Intelligence".
