Janet Hjelmgren

For over two decades Janet Hjelmgren has served in the military both as a musical performer and equal opportunity and organizational consultant at The U.S. Army Field Band in Washington, D.C. In addition to her work in human resource management, she has performed as soprano soloist with the Soldiers' Chorus of The United States Army Field Band and has traveled millions of miles on national and international public affairs concert tours. Janet Hjelmgren has been featured as a soloist with a number of major symphony orchestras to include the London Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony, Boston Pops Orchestra, and Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. In addition to her music performance degrees, she holds a Masters of Education degree in counseling from Bowie State University and is currently fulfilling a Post-Master's Certificate in Organizational Counseling at Johns Hopkins University. Her studies and subsequent work in the areas of performance anxiety and employee performance issues have made her a successful and sought-after clinician, counselor, and educator.

Her work as a performing artist and counselor has led her to develop an integrated and creative approach to performance-related issues within the workplace environment. She is a skilled leader, deeply committed to the creative art of assisting individuals to access their strengths while improving the overall success of the team. Discovering hidden potential within organizations is a hallmark of Ms. Hjelmgren's approach. Her company, Performance Partnership Consulting, provides individual and team performance improvement strategies for enhancing organizational success.

Ms. Hjelmgren serves as a member of the National Work-Life Alliance Independent Review Panel and is pleased to join The Kilgore Group, LLC in the role of intern. She is a Master Sergeant and a recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal.
